Earth Day Cleanup:
April 11, 2015
Volunteers are needed to help pick up litter, clean out planters, and plant new flowers for spring! From 8 am to 11 am, groups will be cleaning up along Main and Broad Streets.
The sixth annual Earth Day Historic District Cleanup consists of many local high schools, local residents, and merchants joining the effort to help beautify our downtown. All ages are welcome. VOLUNTEERS UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE SHOULD BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
Spring on Fourth:
April 18, 2015
5 volunteers for setup 9:30 am to 12 pm: Tent/table chair set up, Hang Signage as needed, Will call/check in
Registration (Will Call): 10:30-2 pm
Breakdown, trash pickup: 1 pm- 3 pm
August 29, 2015
Vendor Assistance Volunteers
8 volunteers to work from 11 am-6 pm. These volunteers will help direct vendors to their location, provide information about parking, assist with unloading vendors’ vehicles, etc., to make the set up process as smooth and flawless as possible! (there will be a lot of people coming in at the same time)
“Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” Volunteers
10 volunteers to work from 11 am-7 pm. These individuals will be responsible for monitoring trash cans, recycling bins, and any litter on festival grounds. These individuals will be provided latex gloves, so they can handle trash properly. These volunteers should be “able-bodied” and willing to carry heavy trash bags, move trash cans to dumpsters, etc.
Main Stage/Acoustic Stage
2 volunteers to work the entirety of the festival (12-5 pm). These volunteers will be stationed at the Main Band Stage assist with sound equipment/band set-up and break-down. SHOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THIS DEPARTMENT.
Speaker’s Tent Concierge
1 volunteer to work 11 am-6 pm. This individual will be responsible for directing people into the tent for each speaking presentation, as well as out of the tent at its conclusion. This volunteer must be outgoing, and must be familiar with the various speakers and their topics, so that they may provide information to people passing the speaker’s tent.
Cooking Demo Volunteers
2 volunteers (11 am-6 pm) these individuals will be responsible for providing assistance to the Cooking Demo Chefs. They will be responsible for cleaning up the Cooking Demo Station between demonstrations, assisting with dish-washing, and providing information about the “current” demoing chef during each demonstration.
5 volunteers to work 11 am-7 pm. These individuals will sell Vegan/Vegetarian Beer and Wine at the Beer Garden of the festival. Must be familiar with brands for sale, and able to make change.
20 volunteers to work at 6 o’clock until clean-up is completed. These individuals will help break down tables, tents, chairs, signage, as well as handle recycling/garbage, etc.These individuals will work quickly and efficiently to ensure that the Greenway is returned to a clean linear park!
October 10, 2015
Set-up Volunteers: 7:30 am – 9:30 am and 9:30 am-11:30 am
10-15 volunteers who will work from 8 am up to the beginning of the festival. These volunteers will help with set up, including: tables, signage, merchandise, trash and recycling bins, pop-up tents, chairs, etc.
Brew Crew: 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm
We need at least 50 volunteers to help setup the brewery tents, pour beer at each of them, help refill ice and beer throughout the sampling time period, help out with the pie eating contest, man the information table and even some folks to hang out in the kids area! These volunteers should be friendly, outgoing individuals, who willing to learn about the beer they are serving.
Clean-Up Volunteers: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
We need 15 volunteers to work until clean-up is completed. These individuals will help break down tables, tents, chairs, signage, as well as handle recycling/garbage, etc. These individuals will work quickly and efficiently to ensure that Main Street is returned to a clean, beautiful place!
15 volunteers who will work from 7 am up to the beginning of the festival. These volunteers will help with set up, including: tables, yard signs, merchandise, trash and recycling bins, signage, tents, bars, chairs, and entertainment stage.
10-15 volunteers who will work from 8am up to the beginning of the festival. These volunteers will help with set up, including: tables, signage, merchandise, trash and recycling bins, pop-up tents, chairs, etc.
5-10 volunteers who will help organize dogs into their “categories” by costume, in preparation for the parade! These volunteers will work from 11:00 am until the end of the parade! These volunteers will also “lead” their category down Main Street and back during the parade, holding a sign signifying their category.
Doggie Registration Table Volunteers
6 volunteers to set up and run the registration table. These individuals will accept cash from owners who want to have their dogs in the parade, sell merchandise, and provide instruction regarding the parade and contest! These volunteers should report at 9am to set up, and remain until the parade/judging has been completed around 1:30pm
5 Volunteers who will help staff the bar at the event. These individuals will sell, pour, and collect cash for drinks. They will work 11-3pm, and help with bar clean-up after the festival!
10 volunteers to work at 3 o’clock until clean-up is completed. These individuals will help break down tables, tents, chairs, signage, as well as handle recycling/garbage, etc. These individuals will work quickly and efficiently to ensure that Main St in Downtown Bethlehem is cleaned!
Christmas City Village
Friday, Saturdays and Sundays, November 27-December 23- Various hours
Christmas City Village Ambassadors: These volunteers will hand out information on the Christmas City Village to downtown guests and visitors. These individuals will be aware of available parking, restrooms, hut locations, and the downtown businesses. These volunteers will also be on-hand for vendors who have needs/questions, and will report to the on-call Staff person with any problems or pertinent information.
